A Real Estate Agent I know Said Short Sales Rarely Close And Banks Do Not Approve Them

Question

I have a friend who is a real estate agent.  She said banks very rarely approve short sales.  Is this true?  Because I see short sales on homes in San Diego all the time?

Answer

You may have heard this from one or more Real Estate agents or professionals that banks do not approve short sales, however, it is not the whole truth. Most real estate agents are not educated on how to successfully close a Short Sale transaction. Reference back to How do I select the right team to successfully manage and negotiate my Short Sale?  before believing others’ “negatively-tainted” opinions on Short Sales.
